BIO SECURITY

Skywork understands that introduced species of plants and creatures can lead to damage of our environment and through the utilisation of thorough biosecurity processes will enable the protection of native ecosystems from these species.

All Skywork bases have bait stations to control vermin and the system is managed using the base bio-security plan, which requires weekly checking of all base bait stations.

Support vehicles are restricted to established roads and tracks to limit the impact on vegetation and fauna habitat, soil erosion, the spread of weed, infectious disease, and airborne dust. Prior to any operation in a sensitive area requiring biosecurity measures, all aircraft, vehicles, equipment and luggage are thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure all foreign species or material with the potential to carry pests or seeds such as soil is removed. Likewise, all aircraft, equipment, and vehicles are cleaned of soil and seeds on each occasion that they are returned to base.
