Search and rescue helicopter services

SEARCH & RESCUE

Skywork has the equipment and local knowledge to support your search and rescue requirements.

Past emergency callouts that Skywork has attended include the search for missing hunters, farmers, boats, and aircraft.  Skywork pilots possess specialised skills when it comes to searching in a methodical and comprehensive process.  Our pilots are experienced with the utilisation of differential GPS navigation tools which provide the aid to ensuring a comprehensive search is conducted and no gaps left that potentially lead to failure in discovery.

Our pilots possess local knowledge of the terrain, an advantage for local searches as we are able to respond in a timely manner, an important feature when time is of the essence.

Our manifest of search and rescue equipment includes CAA-approved Night Vision Goggles, Steerable 450 Amp searchlight, remote hook, full-body harnesses & chair, ELT search equipment, platform left and right attached to a helicopter, up to date two-way communication systems, and portable floats.

Aircraft are tracked by real-time global positioning equipment, allowing Skywork base to have the most up-to-date information of aircraft’s exact location as they undertake flying operations.

Transportation and lifting with helicopters

PRECISION LIFTING

Our helicopters are designed to lift. Skywork has an aircraft suited for your needs. We also have the support equipment for any job – from lifting sand, or a tree, to concrete, poles, furniture, air conditioning units, signs, metal, water tanks and building supplies.

Lifting by helicopter is an efficient way to transfer your materials, with minimal risk of damage to the transported goods. There are also cost savings as less labour is required to complete the job, and it is a speedy solution to getting the goods to their intended site.

Our operations personnel and pilot will assist you to ensure both safety and efficiency. On all helicopter operations, we normally provide ground crew support to ensure that the operations can be undertaken safely.  All our staff are equipped with the appropriate safety gear and are in radio contact with the pilot.

Skywork Helicopters has performed many precision-lifting operations in both remote locations and in urban areas, including people’s back yards.

Skywork Helicopters can pour concrete, spread gravel, erect timber and steel constructions in remote areas or offshore locations, allowing a cost-effective alternative for the placement of construction material, or large and heavy equipment in environmentally restrictive areas.
