MATAKANA COAST + AUCKLAND

View the white sands of Omaha and Tawharanui Regional Park, the picturesque fishing town of Leigh, also home to New Zealand’s first marine reserve. Back up over the rolling green pastures and forests to historic Warkworth. Then sweep down the Mahurangi Harbour and out into the popular fishing grounds of Kawau Bay.

Liftoff over the green hills of Omaha and skim along the coastal fringes of the stunning Hauraki Gulf. Admire the windswept cliffs and hidden caves of Tawharanui Regional Park, fly low over the Pohutukawa’s of Pakiri Beach and sweep down over the magnificent sand dunes at Mangawhai Heads. Out west through the farmlands and waterfalls of the Kaipara Hills to the vast expanses of the Kaipara Harbour. Enjoy a gull’s eye view of the harbour mouth, graveyard to many a sailing ship. Views abound to the North and South of wild and remote surf beaches. Return home over old forests, glistening lakes, and rural towns to where your complimentary glass of sparkling wine awaits you.

Depart from Warkworth or Auckland, experience the view over the Waitakere Ranges down to the blue waters of the Tasman Sea and Piha point break. Take in the panoramic splendour as we head back to Auckland City to circle around the Sky Tower, fly along the Auckland waterfront, over the Viaduct Harbour and Wynyard Quarter before sweeping past the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

HELI-FISHING
Heli-Fishing is the ultimate fishing experience and one of the most exhilarating wilderness fishing expeditions on offer. Skywork Helicopters will fly you to some of the most spectacular locations in the Hauraki Gulf, including Great Barrier Island and the Broken Islands.
Our experienced pilots (fishing guide) know of many fishing spots, which are rotated so that no single spot is over-fished — ensuring there is plenty for all! Snapper, Trevally, Kingfish, and Kahawai are some of the fishing types to expect when your line is in the water. All trips provide the necessary safety equipment including life jackets, life raft, flight following, survival bag, and base communications.
